Finally we get a glimpse of the diva’s new showDrashti Dhami has gone back to work and here’s a glimpse of her new show on Zee TV that fans have been waiting to see. Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani like we told you is a love story between a prince and his help.There’s no iota of doubt that Drashti is a wonderful actor; in fact, every role she does makes us fall in love with her even more. In Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, which is long overdue, Drashti plays the character of Gayatri. The story is set in the 1940’s in Ameerkot, where the Gayatri’s father serves the Royal family.While her father works for Rajmata played by Anita Raj, it’s her son who is compelled to get married to Gayatri. The prince, who was once married, is still in love with his dead wife and hence is unable to give Gayatri the love she deserves. How Gayatri plays her cards to become the Prince’s priced possession, how she goes on to become the most loved queen of all time and how she runs the state forms the rest of the story.
While the plot seems quite redundant, we are sure the show will have quite a few interesting features – royal balls, polo, horse riding, vintage cars etc. The promo we saw looks fabulous and interesting. Riding on her cycle Gayatri enters the palace following a flying kite, without realising that the Royal ball is on and there are guests everywhere. She screams in excitement and that’s when it strikes her that she is in the palace where Rajmata is entertaining guests. Will she be reprimanded for her actions or will she be forgiven?
